Production Support Opportunity in Alliston, ON

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a growing agricultural equipment distributor and manufacturer in search of a Production Support Person to join their team in Alliston, ON. 

Reporting to the Engineering Production Manager, the position is responsible for providing logistical support in the production of specialized vegetable equipment lines for the business. This role will ensure parts and material are received and ready for assembly in line with production timelines and requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Understands company vision and how the Production Support role can assist in achieving it.
Coordinate shipments of parts and material from vendors, to ensure they are on time as required
Receive and check parts shipments, complete required paperwork
Coordinate deliveries, pick up parts and material as required
Liaison with all vendors
Coordinate with welding vendors, deliver stainless steel to vendors and pick up once complete
Tumbling steel as required before product goes to assemblers, cutting of stainless steel with bandsaw
Inventory of parts and picking of parts as required
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Displays high quality of workmanship and professional image at all times.
Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Ensures adherence to Health & Safety policies and applicable legislation including working in a safe manner at all times.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Experience in manufacturing preferred
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work independently, to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
Computer skills including Excel experience
Strong customer service skills and sense of urgency when required
Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, methodical
Interpersonal and communication skills, a team player
Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
Forklift certification an asset
Ability to work overtime as required
