Shop Service Supervisor Opportunity in Belgrade, MT

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Dealer. We are in search of Shop Service Supervisor to join their team in Belgrade, MT.

As the Shop Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing shop service personnel and operations for the Belgrade, MT branch.  In this position it is imperative that you maintain in compliance with all company policies, and interact with all employees, customers, and vendors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate the Company’s core values and promote the mission and vision of the company.
  • Follow all company policies, processes, procedures. Exercise safe work practices to contribute to the achievement of the company’s safety goals.
  • Maintain compliance for OSHA and shop crane inspections.
  • Supervise Shop Service Technicians
    • Maintain schedule and outline shop work.  
    • Oversee shop repairs and provide support/guidance.  
    • Evaluate all shop work for accuracy.
    • Review and approve timecards daily.
    • Foster a team environment and work together to form and execute solutions.
  • Open, monitor, review, and close work orders
    • The company goal is to have work orders closed within 7 days from the last date of labor.
  • Establish, promote, and ensure an outstanding level of customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Provide written estimates to customers for repair and service work.
    • Proactively contact customers with repair progress reports
    • Act as point of contact for all shop service and repair calls
      • Assist customers with technical questions.
  • Participate in staffing Shop Technician positions and conducting annual employee evaluations.
  • Meet with Service Manager regularly to review the service department status.
  • Lead people: coach, mentor, and effectively communicate with direct reports. 
  • Maintain and promote a cooperative atmosphere between sales, service, parts, and other branch personnel.

Qualifications:
  • A technical degree or 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 + years of supervisory and or management experience
  • A technical and diagnostic skill set: the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, engine, and electrical systems.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to follow up with customers.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and management skills. Ability to work with customers, motivate employees and work with internal departments to achieve desired results.
  • Personal accountability and self-management to prioritize and complete all tasks required of the position.
  • Should be personable, highly motivated, a problem solver, ethical, and able to adapt to all forces around – customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and co-workers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
