Director of Sales Opportunity in Alliston, ON

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a growing agricultural equipment distributor. We are in search of a Director of Sales to lead their sales teams in Alliston and Exeter, ON. 

Reporting directly to our Vice President Sales this position is responsible for leading a group of approximately 8 sales professionals and ensuring the profitability and effectiveness of the business unit. The territory will be Ontario Region.

Sales Process Development

Responsible for the implementation and usage of our Sales Processes in the sales division including CRM software
Responsible for overseeing, leading and directing these sales department systems and processes

Sales Management

Responsible for ensuring focus is on providing outstanding customer service to support customer needs and ensure business growth.
Assisting Wholegoods Inventory Manager for inventory reports and used items from trades; inventory turns and SLOB of new and used inventory.
Assisting Wholegoods Inventory Manager with providing accurate and up-to-date costing information on inventory available to all sales divisions in CDK.
Responsible for the A/R of the sales team
Responsible for the A/P of the sales team, ensuring an understanding of vendor programs and the orders/settlement process
Responsible for ensuring all used equipment pictures and division information are kept up-to-date and maintained on HJV website.
Responsible for approving pay and incentive systems for sales representatives.
Responsible for establishing division sales budget for year for sales representatives
Responsible for establishing and seeing through the implementation of the marketing plan with the assistance of the Marketing Manager for the sales business unit.
Lead and manage improvement initiatives for sales business units.
Work closely with service and parts departments to solve customer service issues.
Conduct weekly conference calls or meetings with sales representatives in the team
Displays high quality of workmanship and professional image at all times.
Ensures adherence to Health & Safety policies and applicable legislation.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Highly skilled at sales management.
Maintains thorough knowledge of business units’ product lines.
Experience in the Agricultural industry preferred.
Strong understanding of CDK software, Intellidealer and Lunarstorm.
Strong understanding of supplier ordering systems.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to use critical thinking to determine root causes and solve problems.
Ability to set realistic and clear strategic, improvement and fiscal departmental objectives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Adaptable individual with ability to mentor future leaders.
