Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Dealer. We are in search of Heavy Equipment Sales Representatives responsible for heavy-duty equipment sales in King County, and serving the company’s government accounts. The successful candidate will focus on equipment sales and rentals for municipal customers including city, county and state agencies.
Our client provides a full line-up of heavy machinery covering general production, aggregate processing, road, and compact utility equipment from well-known companies. The company delivers comprehensive sales, rental, leasing, parts and service support in Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho. They are a dynamic company offering a progressive environment that leads to active teamwork and individual growth.
The successful applicant will be responsible for representing the Company in the territory by delivering profitable sales and rental results, including:
Essential Duties:
- Manages a designated territory to maximize the company’s presence on equipment purchases. Sells, rents and leases both new and used Heavy Equipment to government customers.
- Grows and develops customer relationships and brand loyalty to increase market share, total revenue and gross profit.
- Works with customers and potential customers to provide solutions to their equipment needs. Provides on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections and technical support
- Quotes and negotiates prices, delivers contracts and closes orders.
- Attends training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and special promotions. Keeps accurate and up-to-date information in the Company’s sales tracking system and controls sales expenses.
Compensation and Benefits:
Includes salary, commissions, 401(k) match, and medical and dental insurance. Employees receive paid time off including vacation, sick days and holidays.

Qualifications - the ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Five years of experience in construction equipment sales to government accounts is preferred, but experience in a related equipment sector will be considered
- College degree preferred. Equipment sales experience may be substituted or combined with education.
- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, online machine specification and ordering software and other internet-based programs.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Ability to analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, general business periodical and governmental regulations. Ability to occasionally write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, managers, suppliers and the general public.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong references from former employers and colleagues.
