LabVIEW Developer

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading fuel testing equipment manufacturing company. Together we are looking to find a LabVIEW Developer to join their team in Pewaukee, WI.

Position Summary:
The LabVIEW Developer is responsible for developing LabVIEW applications according to client specifications while implementing techniques to optimize LabVIEW to create efficiencies. This position will collaborate with multiple teams to integrate software and complete testing to ensure functionality.

Typical Duties/Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop LabVIEW applications for data acquisition and control systems, meeting client specifications and project deadlines.
  • Implement LabVIEW code optimization techniques to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LabVIEW software with hardware components and external devices.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure software reliability and functionality.
  • Create user-friendly GUIs to enhance the usability and accessibility of LabVIEW applications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during the implementation and deployment phases.
  • Document software design, development processes, and user manuals for future reference.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest LabVIEW features and techniques; attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Assist in the development and testing of LabVIEW applications under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Participate in software design and implementation discussions to contribute ideas and insights.
  • Conduct research on new LabVIEW technologies and tools, presenting findings to the team.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation, including software requirements and test plans.
  • Protect CFR’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform cross-functional analysis and lead special projects as requested.


Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD)
  • National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA)
  • Proficient in National Instruments LabVIEW programming, including LabVIEW Core and Advanced development
  • Strong knowledge of LabVIEW Real-Time and LabVIEW FPGA
  • Experience with developing LabVIEW applications for data acquisition, control systems, and test automation
  • Solid understanding of hardware and software integration, including various instruments and communication protocols (GPIB, RS-232, Ethernet)
  • Expertise in designing user-friendly and intuitive graphical user interfaces (GUIs)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN) and bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla)
