Talon Recruiting has partnered with one of Canada’s premiere Construction Rental Companies that has an immediate requirement for a Heavy Duty Field Equipment Technician to cover the GTA.

Job description:

• Verifies and inspects rental equipment to ensure proper functioning and to detect faults and avoid malfunctions.
• Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
• Tests repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure manufacturers' specifications compliance.
• Cleans, lubricates and performs routine maintenance work on equipment.
• Services attachments and working tools.

Requirements:

• Diploma of Vocational Studies in heavy equipment mechanic combined with a minimum of 3 years experience as a mechanic
• Written and spoken communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Customer oriented
• Availability to work on-call
• Autonomous

Key Qualifications

• An experienced technician, or 3rd/4th year apprentice with the ability to diagnose, perform failure analysis, and repair all types of construction equipment.
• Existing knowledge of construction equipment and building products.
• Hands on experience in the repair and service/maintenance requirements for various types of construction equipment.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and factory standards.
• Ability to work independently, and in a team atmosphere.
• Good communication and people skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Operate and maintain service truck
• All other duties as assigned by the Branch & Service Managers.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting, as heavy lifting will be required frequently.
• The ideal candidate will have previous experience with CAT Equipment.
• Your own tools are required.
